Do any Tillamook dairy products contain gluten?


You will be happy to know that all of our cheese, yogurt, yogurt smoothies, butter, and sour cream products are gluten free, as are most of our ice cream flavors.

Ice cream flavors listing any ingredients such as pie, cookie dough, cake, etc. will contain gluten. The following is a list of Tillamook Ice Cream flavors that do contain gluten: Caramel Toffee Crunch, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, German Chocolate Cake, and Marionberry Pie.

Do Tillamook dairy products contain a major allergen statement on the packaging?

Federal law required that by January 2006, any product with any major allergen (milk, egg, crustacean shellfish, fish, wheat, tree nuts, peanuts or soy), be labeled as such. As of February 2005, all Tillamook Ice Cream packaging was in compliance with the 2006 requirement. We added a "contains" statement to each package that clearly states the major allergen ingredients. In addition to the Federal requirement for labeling, we have added bold type to the major allergens in the ingredient listing for your convenience.

All of our ice cream products are produced on the same lines. However, our ice cream production is schedule so that any ice creams that contain nuts or other allergens are kept separate during production and are produced at the end of the day, followed by a complete system cleaning. This schedule helps ensure that the risk of cross-contamination has been reduced as much as possible. However, we have no sure way of knowing whether any residual peanut allergens may remain.
