FAQ Yogurt
Can I recycle my yogurt and sour cream container? Tillamook yogurt containers are recyclable, the cup is made of #5 plastic and most recyclers take this type of plastic. As of June 2007 you may have noticed we removed the yogurt container over-cap and replaced it with a new aluminum lid. By eliminating the plastic over-cap, we reduced waste by approximately 250,000 pounds of plastic each year. The new seal ensures the same great flavor you love at the same price and the new lid is less wasteful for our environment. And that's a good thing! Tillamook sour cream containers are recyclable and are marked with the recycle symbols. The lid is #2 and the container is #5. Not all recyclers accept these types of recyclables. The following site may be able to help you find a recycler in your area: www.earth911.org. What is modified food starch in your yogurt? The modified food starch used in Tillamook yogurt and Tillamook yogurt smoothies is cornstarch. |
